Women’s unemployment rate in Iran is more than twice that of men, and the unemployment rate for young women is over 40 per cent and in some provinces exceeds 70 per cent. Such figures indicate that job market is not suitable for women.
The rate of Iranian women’s economic activity in spring 2015 was estimated at 13.3 per cent, while the same rate for men is 62.9 per cent. This shows that the job market in Iran is male-dominated and women’s share is very small.
