Minoo Aslani, head of Women’s Community Mobilization Organization, lashed out at UN for adopting plan to increase women’s presence in world parliaments, saying: “This is a prescription by the UN which has a superficial outlook on women.”
Aslani reiterated that Iran should stay away from such puzzles and accused the UN of having a “financially-oriented viewpoint” on women’s participation and lacking “a correct understanding” of women’s role.
She pointed out that the UN’s designation of quotas for women’s participation in parliaments is not any reason for the Iranian regime to add to the number of women participating in various arenas.
