Remarks at IWD conference on “Women Force for Change, Iran Uprising and Women’s Role”

Good afternoon. It is an honor for me to be here today in front of so many women committed to their people and the situation in Iran.
In my capacity as President of the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ), I would like to express my deepest solidarity with all those Iranian women who bravely fight for freedom, democracy and human rights.
The association I have the honor of chairing is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that brings together more than 5,000 members in almost 100 countries.
Although, I regret to say that we have not been able to contact the women of Iran.
Today, Mme. Rajavi said that we must build bridges. I agree with her. In front of the walls that are being built in the world (some are already built and others are being built at this time), the women judges of the world shall build bridges. Bridges of friendship, knowledge, technology transfer, etc. We cannot look the other way.
I am convinced that a society that does not adequately protect its children and women, prepares for its own death, and it will inevitably commit suicide.
Presently, Iran does not protect its women and does not protect its children. Their most basic human rights are violated, and we cannot allow this to happen.
We are here to support, care for and protect women and children. We, the women judges of the world, have decided to be here today and represent the true justice, so that justice reaches Iran, so that women would no longer suffer as they are suffering now.
The women judges of the world work to promote and defend the human rights of all, but especially those of women, the women who suffer the most, the poorest who often have nothing more than their own existence and their own life and they put it entirely in our hands, so that we can decide for their present and future, for their work and family.
The women judges of the world are committed to support this movement led by this excellent woman, Mme. Rajavi.
