Noushin Namvar, a member of the Central Council of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), passed away in Albania on Thursday, October 1, 2026, after a courageous one-year battle with illness, capping 49 years of tireless and unyielding struggle against the two dictatorships of the Shah and the mullahs.
She was a revolutionary freedom fighter belonging to a vanguard generation of women dedicated to liberation and gender equality—a woman who never faltered for a single moment in standing up to the misogynistic regime ruling Iran.
Born in Tehran in 1960, Noushin stood shoulder-to-shoulder with her school friends during the height of the 1979 Anti-Monarchical Revolution, courageously taking part in demonstrations and popular uprisings.
Following the fall of the monarchical dictatorship, she devoted her entire life and energy to the cause of the PMOI. From that point on, every chapter of her life was defined by battle and resistance for freedom—from the front lines of political awareness and opposition to religious fundamentalism, to enduring political imprisonment, joining the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA), sacrificing her personal comforts and loved ones for the liberation of the Iranian people, and standing firm through 14 years of glorious perseverance in Camps Ashraf and Liberty.
Throughout these relentless battles and grueling ordeals, including a grueling 72-day hunger strike, she faced every trial with exemplary courage, immense patience, an unfaltering spirit, and a radiant smile.
Today, Noushin’s life of selfless struggle shines like a bright beacon in the dark night of tyranny, guiding young women and girls marching along the path to liberation—a journey that will continue until the dawn of freedom and the ultimate overthrow of the misogynistic clerical regime ruling her homeland.
Her life stands as a luminous model of conscious devotion and a profound testament to the true meaning of resistance. She taught us that one can live with immense moral greatness without seeking fame, remaining forever immortal in the historical and ethical memory of a generation and a nation.
