On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran hosted a conference to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD 2025). The event gathered distinguished political leaders, human rights advocates, and supporters of the Iranian Resistance from over 80 countries.

Mahnaz Mohebatkar: A Journey of Sisterhood and Sacrifice
I’m so happy to be here and to speak with you all today.
First of all, happy International Women’s Day from here in Ashraf-3. Today, I’d like to share a bit of my experience as a member of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, speaking on behalf of all my sisters in Ashraf-3.
As part of the resistance, we face numerous challenges. But through all the hardships, one thing has become clear. Our strength lies in our cohesion and organization.
As you know, we have a political goal. To overthrow the Iranian regime and free our country from dictatorship.
And we have a vision. A democratic Iran where equality becomes reality.
To succeed in these, we need organization and structure. This applies to everyone, men and women alike. But for us women, collective strength is even more crucial. To build such an organization, we had to rebel against the old assumptions.
So, we learned to embrace challenges rather than run away from them. We had to work on building stronger relationships with one another, and that’s something you learn from Mrs. Rajavi.
To let go of personal preferences in favor of our collective interest. To expect nothing for ourselves. To put others first.
Through this journey, we’ve built a strong and united organization, one that fears no obstacle and no dead end.
That’s why the Iranian regime targets our organizational structure before anything else, because it knows that’s the foundation of our strength and our key source of power.
