Agents of the Intelligence Department of Rasht arrested labor activist Sharifeh Mohammadi at noon on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. They transferred her to an undisclosed location.
Rasht is the capital of Gilan Province in northern Iran.
Sharifeh Mohammadi was arrested after intelligence agents raided and ransacked her residence without presenting a judicial warrant.
So far, there is no information available on the reason for the arrest and the whereabouts of Sharifeh Mohammadi.
Fabricating a case against Armita Pavir
Imprisoned student, Armita Pavir, was summoned to court on the charge of propaganda against the state, on December 3, 2023.
Armita Pavir is presently detained in the Central Prison of Tabriz. She has been on hunger strike since November 6, in protest of horrible prison conditions. Her health is in critical condition so much that prison authorities were forced to transfer her to hospital last week.
Armita Pavir, a student activist, was arrested by security forces on September 21 and transferred to the women’s ward of the Central Prison of Tabriz. No information is available on her charges.
Armita Pavir is a student of cell and molecular biology at the Madani University of Azerbaijan. She had been arrested on October 31, 2022, during the 2022 Iran protests but later released on bail on December 8, 2022.
