Dozens of people lost their lives in the flooding of 28 Iran provinces over the past few days.
A woman, 38, and her 3-year-old child died under the debris when their home was destroyed by floods in Sistan and Baluchestan in southeastern Iran. Another woman and her young daughter died when their car drowned in the city of Sirjan in Kerman province, in southern Iran.
As a result of heavy rains over the past days, floods overran 28 Iran provinces, including West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Bushehr, Qazvin, Fars, Kerman, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Charmahal Bakhtiari, Zanjan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Khuzestan, South Khorasan, Lorestan, Mazandaran, Hormozgan, and Yazd. The 17 Iran provinces suffered heavy casualties and material damages.

The clerical regime’s Emergency Organization announced on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, that eight people had died in southern Iranian regions. The number of those injured because of heavy rains and flooding has reached 20.
The governor of Dashtiari, in Sistan and Baluchestan, said, “As a result of destructions due to heavy rains over the past 48 hours, two persons lost their lives in the city of Negour. The accident happened in the morning of Tuesday, January 4, 2022, after heavy rains and the collapse of the residential unit. A 38-year-old woman and her three-year-old child remained under the debris and lost their lives. Two members of the same family were taken to a hospital in the nearby Chabahar.
The Hospital Emergency of Sirjan, in Kerman Province, also announced on January 4 that a mother and her daughter had drowned in their car when they tried to pass a flooded area under the Railway Bridge.
The state-run Tasnim news agency wrote that the floods inflicted “tremendous damages” on the residents of southern Iranian provinces. “The conditions in these areas are not good at all.”

Unprecedented rains in the south of Sistan and Baluchestan province, particularly in Chabahar and Konarak, overwhelmed roads and crossings and people’s homes, causing various damages to the infrastructure.
The NCRI Women’s Committee expresses its sympathy with the people and especially women of Fars, Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan, and condoles the victims’ survivors.
The clerical regime has added to the pain and suffering of the Iranian people in the face of natural disasters by its oppression and crimes.
