More Iranian nurses have died due to the Coronavirus on April 6 and April 7, 2020.
Aria Sigaroudi, a family health expert, was working at the Sari Health Center. Employed at the Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, Aria Sigaroudi was hospitalized on March 30, 2020. She succumbed to the deadly virus on April 7.
Another Iranian nurse, Kimia Mohammadi, also died of the Coronavirus, in Baharlu Hospital in Tehran on Tuesday, April 7.
Names of additional medical staff and nurses who died have been recently released:
- Marzieh Hosseini Nejad, Medical Sciences University of Babol
- Ashraf Malmali, hospital staff in Tehran
- Roghayeh Ronaghi, healthcare worker in Someh Sara

The regime has failed to provide the appropriate financial support to hospitals. Moreover, it has failed to provide even basic personal protective equipment and disinfectants. These failures have left Iranian nurses, doctors, and other medical personnel defenseless in the face of the deadly virus.
According to the Iranian Resistance, the number of Coronavirus victims in Iran exceeds 25,000 in 263 cities as of Saturday April 11, 2020.
On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, a medical professional reported that, in Tehran and other cities, face masks, gloves, and disinfectants (such as white alcohol and sanitizing gels) are scarce. When they are available, they are sold at greatly inflated prices.
The recent deaths of the nurses put even more pressure on those who remain on the frontlines. Meanwhile, the number of people infected with the virus continues to rise exponentially.
For example, at Khomeini Hospital in Tehran, the number of incoming patients is well beyond the hospital’s capacity. In this hospital, patients are not given any medicine; they are kept in the corridors and treated only with serum.
