Managed by female judges, units of the Special Women’s Patrol of the Prosecutor’s Office of Qom, Iran, are going to inspect places exclusively for women, including ateliers, pools, gymnasiums and hairdressers.
Mehdi Kaheh, the Public Prosecutor of Qom, announced this and added, “The activities of the Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Women’s Patrol teams are going to be stepped up… These teams have so far visited more than 45 hairdressers and 10 pools and issued legal notices to each of the places that had problems or breached the law… If they do not correct their conduct, they will be dealt with legally.” (The state-run ISNA news agency, August 9, 2017)
