Rouhani’s deputy in women and family affairs, said that the issue of women entering sports stadiums cannot be considered without any “pre-conditions and provisions”. Molavardi had also said last year there
is no problem with women attending volleyball matches. However, women were arrested as they intended to attend a volleyball match between Iran and Italy in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
