Civil activist Atena Daemi, has been under pressure in solitary confinement, to confess having connections with Mr. Ahmed Shaheed, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran. Ms. Daemi was arrested by the Revolutionary Guards on October 11, 2014 for alleged propaganda against the state, connections with foreigners and carrying out activities against national security.
She was told by the Iranian regime’s judge that she would be sent to the notorious Qarchak Varamin Prison, unless she accepts the charges. Ms. Daemi is suffering from dermatological problems as a result of the unsanitary prison conditions and a lack of sunlight. However, judiciary officials deny her medical treatment.
