The Deputy Minister of Mine, Industry and Commerce in Women Affairs said, “Female artisans have suffered the greatest damage from the subsidizing plan’s first step.”
Soheila Jelodarzadeh stated, “Women have serious and active roles in the structure of mine and industry bodies but they are still weak in management. Necessary measures should be taken for this issue.”
“In our villages, women play active roles particularly in hand-made industries and farming. Most of our traditional exports such as saffron, pistachio and carpet are made by women” she added.
Jolodarzadeh mentioned, “There is no exact number available of women’s products in the country but 50 percent of employees in Industry, Mine and Commerce Ministries are women. Twenty percent of this number is working as Director Manager, 4-7 percent has higher manager posts but only 7-8 percent of the fund in different sections is in women hands.
