Authorization to hold a ceremony to commemorate International Women’s Day in Tehran’s House of General Sciences Scholars was cancelled on March 8 after security forces intervened.
Also, a group of women activists gathered at Baghe Negarestan Museum in the Department of Social Sciences. The ceremony was held without speeches or particular program.
Over 350 women’s rights advocates issued a statement warning the accelerating degradation of women’s rights in the Iranian society.
