Prison Memoirs

We gather, document, and recount the personal memoirs and narratives of former female political prisoners who have experienced imprisonment and torture in the ruling regime’s notorious prisons, and who shared cells with many of the brave women who were ultimately executed.

Experiences that have often remained in silence and rarely found the opportunity to be heard. These voices reflect suffering and oppression, but simultaneously speak of defiance, resilience, and hope.

These memoirs are part of the history of women who, to build a better world, endured and refused to bow down before the hardships of struggling against a “religious, misogynistic dictatorship.”

Recounting these experiences is a tribute to the women who have paid a heavy price for equality and freedom—and an effort to preserve a memory that must never be forgotten.

With your support, we can continue this effort and expand its scope, ensuring that these experiences are seen and heard more than ever before.

Every contribution helps keep these narratives alive.
