“Presently, the law on enjoining good and forbidding evil has already been devised into the Constitution, passed by the Guardian Council, and is going to be enforced, soon.”
Mullah Zeinol Abedin Ghorbani, Friday prayer leader of Rasht and representative of Ali Khamenei in Gilan Province, announced this on Thursday, September 15, 2016, in the meeting of the Staff of Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil.
Ghorbani further called for formation of a ministry for enjoining good and forbidding evil.
He added that the notion of promoting good and forbidding vice guarantees implementation of all laws.
Explaining the subjects on which the new law would focus, Ghorbani said, “Observation of social justice and rights, distinguishing lawful from unlawful, and observation of the Islamic Hijab (veil) are the most important issues that Enjoining of good and Forbidding from evil deals with.”
