Zohreh Fazeli, a native of Bushehr, was shot by direct fire from the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) during nationwide public protests on January 9, 2026. She was critically wounded after being struck by two live bullets to her side and later died following her transfer to hospital.
Zohreh was 38 years old and held a PhD in Business Administration (MBA). She was fluent in five languages.
After four days of persistent efforts and repeated visits by her family to various medical and administrative institutions, her body was ultimately released by the hospital. She was laid to rest on January 14, 2026.
